Training provided by NWL Safeguarding Team
The Intercollegiate Documents set out that for level 3 training, is a suggested 8 hours of safeguarding training and learning related to safeguarding should be acquired over a 3 year period.
The ICB Safeguarding Adults and Children Team both offer online level 3 training. The dates for these sessions are sent out across the ICB and Primary Care quarterly. Due to the nature and level of this online safeguarding adults training, breakout rooms are used to facilitate discussion, so numbers are capped on a ‘first come first served basis’. As the training is very popular, we request that if staff are booked and are unable to attend, that they kindly alert nhsnwl.safeguardingtraining@nhs.net in a timely manner
Who is this training for?
All care staff who engage in assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of adults where there are safeguarding concerns (as appropriate to role) are expected to complete level 3 training.
Over a 3-year period, professionals at this level should receive training equivalent to a minimum of 8 hours.

- Identifying abuse and making a judgement
- Communication and multi-disciplinary working
- Safeguarding Risk Assessment
- Your role in multi-agency statutory reviews
- Documentation for safeguarding
- Forensic procedures/examinations relevant to your role
- Supervision
