This will outline the statutory and mandatory training required for all staff working in Primary Care healthcare settings. The UK Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) defines nationally agreed learning outcomes and training delivery standards for the statutory and mandatory training topics.

Basic Life Support you will learn how to recognise when someone’s heart has stopped (cardiac arrest), the best way to get immediate help, how to carry out chest compressions (CPR) and what to do if an adult is choking.

Please note that these courses are to be used in conjunction with Face to Face BLS training to be delivered at organisation Level.

This e-learning session meets the statutory and mandatory training requirements and learning outcomes for Resuscitation Level 1 in the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK CSTF). Please note that this e-learning session is also part of statutory and mandatory training. If you have completed this session before starting your learning for the Care Certificate, please advise your assessor.

Mental Capacity Act and Young People Aged 16 or 17

The Mental Capacity Act (MCA) applies whenever a person aged 16 or over lacks capacity to consent to a specific health or care intervention which is offered.

Duration approximately 2 hours 

The Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) covers people aged 16 and upwards in England and Wales, who cannot make some or all decisions for themselves. The ability to understand and make a decision when it needs to be made is called 'mental capacity'. The MCA protects the human rights of people who may lack mental capacity to make their own decisions.

Duration approximately 3.5 hours 

This session covers the statutory and mandatory training for Moving and Handling (Level 1). It has been designed to meet the learning outcomes in the UK Core Skills Training Framework.
